The Essence of Communication

The essence of communication is listening. The essence of listening is understanding. When we listen effectively we become aware of our own culture and beliefs, assumptions, perceptions, expectations, and judgments. When we listen we are clear as to what gets in the way. When we listen we are present, grounded, and free.
In business as well as in life, listening is the most powerful tool that acts as a bridge to our relationships and accomplishments. Being a leader is dependent on our ability to listen.
When we are open and able to recognize, acknowledge and feel (listened to) the differences and sameness in others heightens our self-awareness and our global connections. Anything is possible.
